RnAPhidS
The RnAPhidS project is developing RNAi-based plant protection products for the environmentally friendly control of Psylliodes chrysocephala (cabbage flea beetle) and Myzus persicae (green peach aphid) in winter oilseed rape, an important crop in Germany. The aim is to replace chemically synthesized insecticides with biodegradable dsRNA active substances that have a targeted effect against these harmful insects.
The focus is on researching suitable target genes, optimizing RNA stability and developing innovative formulations and application techniques. The combination of basic research and applied development is intended to improve the effectiveness and environmental compatibility of RNAi sprays and make pest control more efficient.
